Members of two local choirs can hardly contain their excitement as they prepare for a trip to the Veneto region of Italy this month to take part in an international choral festival.
Elmbridge Choir and Elmbridge Ladies Choir have been rehearsing hard for the first ever ‘Veneto Canta' choral festival which is open to choirs of all types and repertoire.
On April 11th Hilary Minor, from our "Get Music Going!" grants scheme, visited
the studios of Brooklands Radio and was interviewed on air by Programme
Director Graham Laycock - what a wonderful interview - her enthusiasm and passion for the
scheme is obvious. Well done Hilary.
A raffle held at Surrey Music’s ‘Christmas Crackers’ concert at the HG Wells Suite in Woking has raised around £320 for our ‘Get Music Going!’ grants scheme. The prize of a watercolour print was kindly donated by Cobham artist Elizabeth Reynaud who has been a huge supporter of Surrey Music since its formation more than 7 years ago. The Mayor of Elmbridge, Cllr Janet Turner, picked out the winning ticket at Esher Civic Centre last week and we are pleased to announce that the lucky winner of the print is Don Bale from Whiteley Village, who is pictured here together with Elizabeth.
