Cobham, October 2011. In anticipation of a sell-out show, Elmbridge Music has just revealed further exciting plans for its ‘Sing It! Swing It!' concert on Saturday 29th October at the New Victoria Theatre.
With a cast of nearly 300 singers and musicians performing in two choirs and two bands there really will be something for everyone and a truly spectacular evening for all.
From pirate radio's ‘Hall of Fame', DJs Paul Burnett and Ed ‘Stewpot' Stewart will be donning their headphones and going ‘live on-air' to recreate those glory days as they introduce the fabulous acts and host the evening's entertainment.
Fans of the swing era have a real treat in store too. All-round entertainer and showman, Bobby Davro, well-respected for his incredible singing talents, will join Elmbridge Big Band for a star turn! Elmbridge Music is thrilled that Bobby is taking part. As well as raising money for Elmbridge Music Grants Scheme, the concert will raise funds for Sam Beare Hospice, a charity which Bobby works very hard to support.
The delightful Elmbridge Young Musicians will spread a little happiness with a collection of popular music from days gone by, while Elmbridge Choir and Elmbridge Ladies choir promise to fill the auditorium with warmth and good cheer with a wide range of songs, from traditional choral pieces to contemporary pop and rock classics from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Audience participation is encouraged!
